The Dendrobates - strawberry poison dart frog - "the blue jeans frog," as my father called it. I remember hearing stories, seeing pictures of this species as a child; I had a small rubber toy that I played with in the puddles when it rained. The charisma of this species drew me into the jungles of Central America, and continues to captivate me today.
